We praise God for His blessing in making of our first album through Youth and Young Adult Fellowship. It's a year long process of composing songs, finding equipments, collaborating with CMF musicians, especially Saw Aung Doo who plays a major role, and making of studio which is also still on progress. When we have first time hearing of the CD album, our hearts feel great about the music. The lyrics may speak to listeners as if someone is talking with you face to face. Last Sunday, we dedicated this album to be blessed and touch lives to everyone who is listening. Thank you everyone who make this album possible. We thank you Saw Aung Doo for his tireless dedication to this album. Thank you all the CMF musicians for your love and support in our music. May God richly bless everyone.

Helping Hand for Haiti

This Sunday, our worship service will be collecting special offering for the earthquake victims of Haiti. All the families of our church, let us do something for the needs of Haiti.
God is faithful to multiply our offerings as we gave.
Thank you all our leaders for your initiative effort to give generously and working together with the American Baptist National Ministry for this course.
We are also decided to channel some of our resources through our Regional Ministry "Growing Healthy Churches" for the course of lending a helping hand to Haitians. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the surviving victims of this terrible earthquake.

Happy New Year! and New Theme for the OBMBC

3.5% is our Theme for 2010. Let me explain, the planet Earth is covered by three quarters of the boy of waters, we called it sea. The amazing fact is that the sea water contains 3.5% of salt in it. The other 96.5% is purely water by itself. However, when you taste the sea water, you know how much salty it is. Our Lord, Jesus Christ pulls this example so effectively as He compares us, the Christians with the Salt. Jesus said, "You are the salt of the earth." Matthew 5:13. Imagine that if a few percent of salt contains in the sea water can make it salty, then we a few Christians also can be the salt of the Earth to impact the world. Jesus did not suggest that we should be salt of the earth, but He said that we are the salt of the earth. So, we are already the salt. The question is that Do you have saltiness in you? or Have you lost salt flavor in you? The next sentences in Matt.5:13 are that if the salt has lost the flavor, it is unusable and throw away. Our hope and pray is that we all will be salty Christians to influence our surrounding people, to be testimonies for our Lord, to guide and lead people unto Him for their salvation. Let the salt reminds us whenever we taste it in our food and see it or use it in our daily life that we are to be the salt of the Earth. 3.5% is our focus and our theme in our preaching, praying, serving as we go through this year 2010. May you have a blessed New Year as you commit yourselves in the Lord, Jesus Christ.

2009 Christmas Eve Drama

The excitement was in the air as we began to perform the musical drama right after the Christmas Eve service. You may not know if you were watching in the seat how much tension we have had in the back of the stage. We were blessed to be able to pull up everything in a short time. Many Youths and Young Adults have given their best in presenting the good tiding of great joy to the viewers. We hope and pray that the good news won't stay in the place but being carried out by all viewers to their places.

Angles lifted up their praises to the new born King.

The Sheep and Cats danced around the manger and they were expressing the knowledge of the Savior's birth.

It was hard journey for the Mary and Joseph along with their donkey toward the birth place of Bethlehem.

Finally, the Inn Keeper, Samuel found the Savior who was born right at the back of his Inn, the manger. He said that he wished to know the Savior earlier so that he would have welcome Him in his Inn. Now, we all want to see that everyone, including you to welcome the Savior, Jesus Christ, the Immanuel (God with us) into your heart today. May your heart be the place where the Savior born today. Marry Christmas!

Christmas Eve Service

Children nativity scene was played out as the congregation sing along the silent night.... It was a sweet reminder of what was like the night when Christ was born in the manger. Choir added up the story of Christmas in the way that we all have much to talk about. So it was all beautiful to make worshipful moment.

The Christmas message was delivered by Rev. Nancy Smith. She reminded us that we could sing a new song which the song of praises and wonderful news of our Savior's birth.

Do You Know What I Know? at Christmas Eve

I was wondering, how to celebrate the Birth of Christ in the best way that we can? Sure enough! It is the only way to know how, to be able to feel once again just like Christmas night in Bethlehem. Shepherds, Angels, Wise men, Mary & Joseph, etc.. must be there to feel Christmas spirit. Above all, the true Christmas message that we can all agree on is "peace on earth, goodwill toward man." So how to tell the story of Christmas this year again? Small and humble way that we can, "let the animals tell the story of the Savior's birth!"

Mary & Joseph is pretty serious about doing the show. Look at them, they already selected their costumes. What about the animals? Oh! yes, they are fully dressed up. Just see for yourself, the Meewow! cat show off her claws. "You better watch out, you better not cry..."

Angels shall sing praises and trumpets shall sound that night, Oh what a night! Come and worship with us to feel, to be healed, and to adore Him once again. Merry Christmas to you all.

The address is 534, Twenty Second Street, Oakland, CA 94612. Time, 6:00 PM worship at sanctuary and drama at 7:30 PM in the Gym.

Caroling in December 2009

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Much jingling and caroling through out the night to the friends and families' homes. We had a good time of visiting and sharing the Christmas songs and scriptures to the new comers of this year from house to house. Most of them are none Christians. But God is working in their lives as we are seeing evidences in them. Please pray for their well being not just physical and mental but also spiritual. They were comforted by joining in our singing as well as our visitation.

Finally, it's dinner time. One of our church members who are also new comers since last year, provided us the delicious fish curry dish with rice and pig back bone soup. Yam!

One of the Buddhist family also invited us to come to their home and listen the carol songs. We had an opportunity to share the good news of Jesus Christ with the family.

Yes, we will continue to sing the Christmas melody and carol songs in our hearts beyond the season of Christmas.

Merry Christmas to you and your family.
