ONE THING: 2nd Step: Count All Things Lost (Phil.3:8)
Our 2nd step in pursuing Christ is "Count all things lost." It is hard for anyone to think of himself as having nothing while he has so much to lose. We, most of the time, forget the reality of life that is a shot lift, and pursuing every temporary things in this world. Apostle Paul said that he has learned to count every thing in his life as if all lost. That means, all good and bad things that he achieved and passed through in his life are nothing in compare to the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus. He said, "Count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ" (Phil. 3:8). Paul has found a better perspective of 'kingdom living' life style. That is to say, he has lived his life according to God's purpose. Many of us may not know the purpose of life on this earth. God has preordained our life for His purpose (Eph. 1:4-10). One cannot fulfill his life purpose without living in kingdom perspective. Paul has demonstrated to us that nothing is more important than pursuing Christ in this world. Jesus Christ Himself has told us, "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matt. 6:33). Our priority must be Jesus Christ in compare to temporary things of this world. We are not suggesting here every thing in this world is bad and ugly. Rather, it is to say that let our mind be focused more important thing, which is eternal value in our lives than temporary values. May you be able to count all things in your life as if lost (losable nature) as you are focusing on Christ. Some says, "Let go and let God." That might be a good motto to live for in this world. Let your temporary things go and let God take control of your life.
