Sunday Happenings!

Many of us are preparing for the coming year whether at home or church. In our church, the Gym is repainted with with lines for the badminton courts.

Two friends of Aji, came to visit us last Sunday to cut hairs for the new comers. We are so thankful for their love to care for the new comers. May God bless them.

Last Sunday worship we were blessed by the visitation of Rev. Samuel Saw (AJMBC) Los Angeles and Rev. Saw Hsar Say Moo Kaw of Burma. Rev. Hsar Say's message brought us to realization of the need of the gospel in remote area of Burma. May the Lord continue to bless their ministry here and in Burma.

Tahoe trip with YAF

It is fun and great moment with YAF on a day trip to South Lake Tahoe. The weather was beautiful and without any inconvenience, we enjoyed ourselves on the snowy slope. The best part is seeing the view of the Lake Tahoe from the cable ride on the mountain. A little bit scary to ride it yet enjoy the view so vest, the creation of God. I remember, Kelly said that she has never seen such snow covered white trees which grow on the high alleviation. It is awesome.

We went to lake side slope where we ride slides up and down. Suddenly, all of us become kids again. It was a blissful moment that I can't forget.

New Year Eve Service

Once in a year we are closing up the present year 2007 with thankful heart and songs of praise. Then entering into the brand New Year 2008 with confident and receiving blessing along with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is the best place to be in the present of God in worship and adoration to His brand new creation. Indeed, God is going to give a New Year to every creatures on earth.

We are going to recount the blessings as well as our prayer request cards which we wrote it at New Year eve of 2006. There are people who would testify God for His answer to the requests. Beside, we will write a new prayer cards for the year 2008 and see how much God is faithful to answer our prayer. Please come by and experience God's goodness to yourself.

We have been blessed by our ministry outcomes in various aspects during this year. We have learned through our motto "To Know Him, To Love Him, & To Serve Him" in our messages and practical aspects. In 2007 alone, God has blessed us with Nine brothers and sisters who accepted Christ and be baptized in our church. Karen Fellowship has grown through out the year more and more. This coming year they will be worshiping in bigger place, Gym. The beautiful part is the present of unity and humility among us. Praise the Lord!

I, personally would like to share with all of you about the new face of our church ministry at this New Year eve service. It is importance for everyone to know what is our intention and vision for the New Year 2008, altogether.

Join us, for our worshipful New Year Eve Service. It will begin with sports & activities by 8:00 PM. Then service will start at 11:00 PM and end at 12:15 AM. We will end our service with hot porridge. It is the best food to welcome the New Year.
Happy and Blessed New Year!

YAF turned to be secrect Santas

It is touching moment for me to hear that YAFers are making different in their surrounding environment. All of them are remembering the needy families during this Christmas. They said that instead of gift exchange among themselves who have so much staff, rather they give gifts to the new comers families who need the most. I see personally, the joy that they have on their faces are awesome. Now YAFers are experiencing true meaning of Christmas.

Christmas Eve Service

Sing along Christmas Carol was fun to start our informal section of the service. Pastor Nancy was talented with traditional Christmas songs singing and flute playing during our service. For some of us, singing of Christmas Hymnals and reading of Bible verses brought back the memories of Christmas Eve of past many years ago. When I was a child, I like to hear the carol songs during late late silent night. I was eagerly waiting for people to come and sing caroling at our home. Just can't express my feeling of Joy when they arrived my home and sing those carol songs.

Christmas and the bell, how appropriate combination to worship God in our service. Linda, the organist was playing bell choir along with her friend who's accompanying her in piano playing. It add up spics to the service. Many of us are first time to enjoy this beautiful bell choir. They want to learn to play it.

Candle of Joy, Love, Hope, and Peace were lighted up. We offer a prayer of peace "Shalom" for the world. May the peace be upon this wonderful world.

Mostly we enjoy the worm porridge soup right after the service. The fellowship was warm. The fun of Christmas will continue through out the New Year, the cheer of season will never end in our sweet memories...

Santa arrived at Christmas Eve!

Dear Santa,

Thank you so much for the gifts that we received. May you be coming soon at next Christmas. Yes! this is the words of the children at OBMBC. Your generous donation and toys that you bring, brought the bright smiles to all Sunday School children. Thanks to all.

Children have fun games, treats, and gifts which they will never forget. Some of the children who arrived to U.S., this is the first Christmas in their lives. Experiencing joy and love which is the true Christmas come to a live, suddenly.

Biblical motto is; "it is more blessed to give than to received" (Act.20:35) indeed, you all are blessed as you bless others. May the joy of Christmas dwells richly in you all through out the Happy New Year!

Some of the older youth were taking advantage with Santa, giving hugs and expecting gifts from him. Well, they got some thing, finally.

Christmas Celebration Dinner

It was great to see many of us, doing their parts with the best ability they have. Dinner was great and Drama was awesome with specticular background sceen. Thanks to the kitchen crew who cook and help clean up for Our message in it was; a woman was struggle to cope with the greave when she lost her son during the masscecra of King Herod upon two years and under male children. (Luke 2) Her quest to revange upon the death of her son led to find Jesus. At last when she found him, she turned to accept Christ as Lord and Savior instead of vangence. Comparision between her pain of loosing her own son with the love of God who give His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to redeem mankind from their sin was the theme of the drama. The Midnight become clear when she found Christ in her life. May you find Christ as you passing through this season of Christmas.

News & Concerns

The great late Christian musician of Burma, Saw Bwe Mu's son, Bwe Lay has joined our church to support in music ministry along with YAF team. He is a wonderful gifted musician. We have been greatly needed of a musician; thank God for Bwe Lay and "we warmly welcome you."

There was a small incident that occurred in our Gym last Sunday. Our special guest Yadana Oo was enthusiastically playing basket ball after the worship service, she got minor bump on her forehead when she trip from her heeled dress shoes. She was rested for a while with ice bag on her forehead, later she was fine and left home. We will continue to pray for her recovery. I believer she will never forget about our church and we will remember her always.

Ko Mung Pi and Daw Lum family is leaving us at the end of this month for Indiana. They have planed to join their relatives who lives in Indiana. This family has been great blessing to our church and their testimonies have been inspirational to our congregation. Our hearts go out for them. May the Lord bless this family and uphold them wherever they are.

Sunday worship

Our Sunday worship service was filled with spiritual songs, testimonies, and word of God. We were closing out our series of sermons on "To Serve Christ" this week. The responses from attandees were great to the alter call to serve God in our community. Many people have raised their hands to serve God any way that they can; whenever, wherever, whatever, and however it takes. Thank God for their dedication. Above all these, we had special guest from Burma, Yadana Oo, a professional Christian singer attanded in our service. She has enlighten us with her beautiful voice and songs of the season. We thank her for this occasion. May the Lord continue to use her for His glory as she sings about Him.

Greetings!

May the spirit of Christmas dwells in your heart not only this season but through out the coming New Year. Our family want to thank for those who wish us with their warm thoughts and prayer to our family during this season.

Heart-felt Gifts from Children

Sunday School children are sending Christmas gifts to those children who are in the Thailand/Burma border. When the children learn that there may be no Christmas gifts coming for those children, they collected their pocket money and sending the heart-felt gifts to them. Some of them bring a few cents and other ask their parents. Amazingly S.S. teachers collected over three hundreds and ready to send it this week. God is great! Even the children learn to give with what they have.

Angels are singing!

I thought it would be angels who sing so beautifully on last Saturday evening. Yes! it was beautiful because of the joy and enthusiasm that mixed the songs. I am so glad that we are so joyful to sing carol and proclaiming the birth of Christ and celebrating with friends and families. Let us sing to the songs about our Savior Jesus Christ. Let your voices heard across the hall and the neighbor. Let the air carry our songs to a wake those who are a sleep. Let your gospel be spread through the darkness of this world. Yes! let the heavenly host, the angels sing....

Happy Holiday! or Merry Christmas!

Happy Holiday! Or Merry Christmas! Which type of greeting do you use when you greet someone in this season? I realized that in every public television or social gathering people are using “Happy Holiday!” in their greetings. I just wonder how I should greet someone when I meet them during this season. I like to say, “Merry Christmas!” how nice. But some does not like this kind of greeting. The expression of their faces is changed the moment they hear “Merry Christmas!” Why?
You may know the answer. It is simply “Christ” was in the middle of it. Some say that “it is politically incorrect.” For those who reject Christ, it is definitely offensive for them to hear, “Merry Christmas!” In the news, an Atheist is undermining these words; “one nation under God” and “in God we trust.” They want God to be totally out of picture. In Scripture, Psalm 14:1 says, “The fool has said in his heart there is no God.” What a picture God painted. The mercy of God is enduring. Even though they refuse Him, yet He sustains life for them. God wake them up every morning yet they wake up and say, “There is no God” for another day.
So let us say, “Merry Christmas!” with heart full of praise and glory for our Lord Jesus Christ. Remember Jesus is the reason for this season. May we all share this good news of Jesus Christ to our love ones. May those who can’t see God shall see His light and truth. Let them be merry for this very reason, Christmas.

This weekend

We are going out for Caroling this Saturday. Join us at 11:30AM for warming up singing then leaving at 1:00PM from OBMBC. It will approximately end at 6:30 PM. We are excited about sharing and celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ in songs, God's word, testimonies, prayers and goodies.

On Sunday, Saya Joseph from ATEM will come to share us with God's word. Please continue to pray for him and his ministry.

Merry Christmas!
